The Colorado Springs Historic Preservation Board and Evergreen Cemetery are partnering to host a historic tour of the cemetery this Saturday as a way for citizens to celebrate local history. The tours are Saturday, May 21st, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Established in 1871, shortly after the town was founded, Evergreen Cemetery is now home to many of the city's founding fathers, and they say a ghost or two. The Cemetery is located at 1001 S. Hancock Ave. Cemetery Manager Will DeBoer will give tales from the historic crypts of Colorado Springs' oldest cemetery.

National Preservation Month is announced each year by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to celebrate the diverse and unique heritage of our country's cities and states. The City of Colorado Springs Historic Preservation Board is a seven-member board that advises City Council on the City's Historic Preservation program.
