TODAY: Toasty temperatures for Colorado Springs this afternoon and into the evening with highs around 89 and a 20% chance of rain. Very hot temperatures for Pueblo with highs nearing 96 degrees. Very little chance of rain is expected for Pueblo and the surrounding communities. Chances of showers will be pretty minimal for the area even over the mountains again today: 20% for Teller County, the Wet Mountains, and the Sangres.
TONIGHT: If you can get through today's toasty temps you will be rewarded with the arrival of a nice cool front late this evening and across the eastern plains. Behind the cool front there will be increased cloud cover, gusty winds and a slight increase in the chance of showers.
TOMORROW: Much cooler Thursday....temps at least 15 degrees cooler than our toasty temps today. You will also notice a lot more cloud cover tomorrow with those cooler temps and if we are lucky, a couple of light showers. Lower chances for much needed moisture will stay near the foothills, mountains, and higher elevations.
FRIDAY: Another day of more clouds than sunshine. Temps should be about 6-8 degrees warmer than Thursday, yet still cooler than average. Another chance, especially late in the day, for a stray shower over the mountains and higher elevations. Still not much hope that our neighbors on the eastern plains in the agriculture business will see any moisture.
SATURDAY: More sunshine than Friday and another slight chance for a shower or two from I-25 and areas to the west. Temperatures almost exactly where they were for the last day of the work-week.
SUNDAY-TUEDAY: A much warmer, drier trend returns to the forecast to end the weekend and to start next week. Temps will be go from the mid to the upper 80's in the Springs and from the lower to the middle 90's in Pueblo! Skies will likely be completely dry at the lower elevations all three days. We'll keep a very slight chance of a stray storm or two possible over only the highest elevations.
