Did you know there are things you can do to get the most miles for your fuel? As the price for gas continues to rise, drivers are now looking to improve their fuel efficiency.
"Aggressive driving is a terrible gas waster," says Philip Reed from Edmunds.com, adding that, "It constitutes a 30 percent drop in your fuel economy"
Reed suggests cutting back on rapid acceleration, aggressive breaking and high speed lane changes. These driving habits can be destructive to your fuel economy, he says.
Also, only fill your car with high-grade gas if it requires premium. Most cars run just fine on lower grade gasoline, and they happen to be about a dime or more less per gallon. Another tip from AAA's Jeffrey Spring is to drive a few blocks away from the interstate before filling up because prices are generally cheaper if they are farther from an exit.
