A fire consumed more than 20 apartments in southeast Colorado Springs on Saturday. All of those families are displaced at this time.

Just after 7:30 two buildings at the Timbers Apartments went up in flames-- and fast-- residents tell News 5 the buildings were fully engulfed within minutes.

Although the Colorado Springs Fire Department responded within two minutes, the buildings were a complete loss. As of now everybody has been accounted for and nobody has been hurt, but residents were lucky to escape with their lives-- and nothing else. "Everything...my kids don't have nowhere to go. I have four kids and I'm a single mom. I don't know where we're gonna sleep. Everything is gone," Felicia West, a resident, told News 5.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but residents familiar with the owner of the unit where the fire is believed to have started suspect a meth lab was the cause. Officials have not confirmed this information.

The Red Cross is offering assistance to those affected; if you'd like to donate, visit pparc.org.
