‘Tis the season for bowl games, holiday parties and gift giving. And while you may think your Christmas shopping is complete it may not be.
You may not be able to travel to Fort Worth to watch Air Force play Houston in the Armed Forces Bowl but why not buy a ticket anyway and then donate that ticket to young airmen, cadets or service men and women who may be able to afford a ticket to the game.
Chris Peludat, the Academy Assistant Athletic Director for tickets says, "We target them to cadets and then junior enlisted in the Dallas - Fort Worth area, guys and girls that may not normally be able to attend a bowl game." Peludat adds "It's a way really for our alumni and our fans in general to give back one to the program but two to those that served in the armed forces."
Several thousand tickets have been donated in the "Tickets for Troops" program in each of the past two seasons. Donated tickets are discounted for only $20.00 and may be tax deductible. Tickets are available at the Air Force Ticket office or by calling 1-800-666-USAF.
