Some of the hardest hit areas in Southern Colorado are north and east.
In Monument Thursday night, Interstate 25 was icy with blowing snow.
In eastern El Paso County white out conditions caused some problems. There wasn't much snow, but the wind pushed that snow across Highway 24.
It got so bad, further east that Highway 24 was shut down from Calhan to Limon. That road is now open, but drivers can expect blowing snow and icy cinditions. We spoke to some paramedics who say there were parts of eastern El Paso county where they could only see the hood of their ambulance in front of them.
The good news is that very few accidents have been reported out east. Most people, it appears, rode the storm out from home.
