IWAKI, Japan (AP) - Officials are trying to ease fears about radiation leakage and a potential meltdown after an explosion today at a nuclear plant in northeastern Japan. They say the reactor's metal housing remains intact and radiation levels have fallen. But authorities have evacuated a 12-mile radius around the reactor and plan to distribute iodine. They say three people have been exposed to radiation, but are showing no signs of illness.
