Roughly 3,000 people were evacuated in Woodland Park and Teller County Wednesday because of the Waldo Canyon Fire. According to Woodland Park Mayor David Turley the fire is still burning about 2 miles from Wellington Gulch, so he says the threat to Woodland Park still exists. Highway 24 remain shut down east of Woodland Park. The closure and evacuations have forced restaurants like Burger King, McDonalds and Wendy's to close. Walmart is also shut down. Some businesses like Safeway have managed to stay open. No word when the highway will reopen. Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®
