Colorado culture kept a lot of people out of stores on Black Friday. All the hiking and biking trails in the Pikes Peak Region prove not everyone is interested in shopping deals.
Instead of waiting in checkout lines at stores, thousands chose to check out Colorado's great outdoors. Asked if there was any temptation to shop, hiker Wendy Knutsen said, "Not really, to be that crowded and running around like a nut. [With]this, we just got to get some fresh air, it's absolutely beautiful to be outside. We weren't even tempted."
Like shoppers, hikers and bikers did have to deal with parking. The parking lot below the Incline was packed, it was the same at Red Rocks Open Space, and at the top of Cheyenne Canyon every spot in the parking lot there was taken.
