That cheeky blue steam engine, Thomas the Tank Engine is rolling into Southern Colorado this summer and he's inviting junior engineers to join him for a train ride.

The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad will host A Day Out With ThomasTM: Leader of the Track Tour during the weekend of June 17-19.

Families can take a 30 minute train ride pulled by a 15-ton replica of Thomas and have their picture taken with Sir Topham Hatt at the depot. There will also be arts and crafts, story telling and other activities to enjoy.

Train rides will run from 10:00 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. (and until 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 18) at the Durango & Silverton Railroad, 479 Main Avenue in Durango. Tickets cost $18 for ages two and up. All day passes are available for $30.

To purchase tickets in advance or for other information call the railroad at 888-872-4607, visit their website or the Thomas and Friends website.
