EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Broncos' record-setting offense was never quite able to get going in Super Bowl XLVIII.
But wide receiver Demaryius Thomas was involved enough to set one more record in the final game of the year.
The fourth-year wideout set a new Super Bowl record with 13 catches. He racked up 118 yards and the Broncos' only touchdown of the game in the process.
The previous record was 11, set by Jerry Rice, Deion Branch, Dan Ross and Wes Welker (in Super Bowl XLII).
Thomas' previous career high was 10 catches against the Oakland Raiders earlier this season. His postseason best was eight receptions against the Chargers in the Divisional Round of this year's playoffs.
In six career postseason games, Thomas has averaged nearly seven catches, 107 yards and a touchdown per game.
