Frost Advisory is in effect for the plains and along the I-25 corridor late tonight through early tomorrow. A frost advisory is issued when temperatures are expected to dip near the freezing mark and widespread frost is likely. Lows will be in the 20s and 30s for everyone.
The storm that's affected so much of the US this week is now in the Great Lakes. It's far enough away from CO now that the upper atmosphere can change course. An area of high pressure is building into the southwest. As this builds, temperatures will climb and head in our directions. In Colorado Springs we could possibly reach our first 80° day of the year on Sunday. And in Pueblo, we may hit our first 90° day of 2014. So yes, this means within a couple days of each other, we're going to go from having the heat on, to turning on the A/C!
For tomorrow, we start to see these changes. It's kind of the middle man between Thursday and the weekend. So Friday, expect mostly sunny skies and temperatures climbing into the 60s and 70s. Saturday is when the real warm up happens.
Next week will also start warm and sunny, but the temperatures will drop off a few degrees by the middle of the week. We'll be back to more seasonal averages on Wednesday with some clouds and a shower chance also returning.
Hope you're ready for some heat... Meteorologist Valerie Abati
