A spring snow storm brought a mix of rain and snow to communities across Southern Colorado Wednesday morning. Rain, snow and thunder are expected throughout the day with the heaviest snow falling in the mountains and higher elevations.

Despite the storm, the National Weather Service says we still need the moisture. Extreme and severe drought conditions still exist across Southeastern Colorado. Snowfall totals in Colorado Springs alone are 32 inches below the seasonal average and rainfall totals are two and a quarter inches below average.
