The new season of "The Biggest Loser" got underway last week, and once again, contestants are under the guidance of trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper.
What you may be surprised to learn is that Harper needs a workout nudge just like the rest of us.
"I've got a really busy schedule like so many people I work with, and like to have my own trainer that takes the reins, takes that steering wheel from me, that's like, that helps me," said Harper.
The popular trainer says he not only works out on a regular basis, he also watches his diet and makes sure he practices what he preaches.
"I knew from the beginning I'd have to practice what I preach. And I do. I love fitness. It's my life, my purpose. So, people can always see what's in my grocery cart or see what I'm eating in a restaurant -- I'm always going to be living true," said Harper.
Harper says he does have his moments when he breaks his diet and indulges in some not so healthy food.
"I love chocolate, so I find a way to keep it in my diet and that's what I try to teach my people, all the time, you can still have those things that you like to eat, you just have to manage it," Harper said.
It's a message getting through to contestants and viewers.
"People come up to me all the time. You've inspired me to lose twenty pounds, fifty pounds, a guy came up to me in the gym just out of nowhere and said 'I've been watching your show, and I lost over 100 pounds on my own.' That's like, amazing!" said Harper.
Harper also revealed in the current issue of 'Vegetarian Times' that he's given up meat and has gone vegetarian.
He told the magazine it's dropped his cholesterol level 100 points!
