A teenager accused of fatally stabbing a radio newsman during a sexual encounter is scheduled to appear before a New York City judge.

John Katehis is charged with murder in the killing of George Weber in the victim's Brooklyn apartment in March 2009. Katehis is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on Tuesday in state Supreme Court. Katehis is being held without bail.

Authorities say Katehis had answered Weber's Craigslist ad offering to pay for sex.

Weber worked 12 years as an on-air reporter at WABC in New York. He also had worked at stations in California, Colorado and Pennsylvania.
