Teen known for yearbook photo and mom arrested at party

DURANGO, Colo. (AP) - A Durango teen who gained fame after student editors deemed her senior photo too racy to use as her yearbook picture has been arrested with her mother.

The Durango Herald reports 18-year-old Sydney Spies is accused of blocking officers from entering her mother's home during a party Sunday night at which underage partygoers were allegedly drinking alcohol.

Police say her mother, Denise "Miki" Spies, was home during the party.

Sydney Spies was arrested early Monday on suspicion of obstructing a police officer. She is free on $500 bail. Her mother was arrested on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, obstructing a police officer and resisting arrest. She is free on $10,000 bail.

The Herald reports efforts to reach the two for comment weren't immediately successful.
