A 14-year-old was taken into custody after threatening two James H. Risley Middle School students with a BB gun. According to Pueblo Police, the threat happened a little before 4 p.m. Thursday. When police arrived at the scene, the teen took off on his bike. Sometimes during the chase, the teen threw the gun over a backyard fence located in the 1500 block of East 7th street in Pueblo. The teen suspect who formerly attended Risley Middle School was immediately apprehended.
Police did not know at first it was a BB-gun until they found the actual gun in the backyard. It was believed to be a real gun by the victims including the school security staff. We called the School District Public Information Officer he told News 5 that this was a police matter. No other comment from the district at this time.
The suspect faces two counts of Felony Menacing charges. We will keep tracking this story.
