Teen hospitalized, 5 people trapped in Chaffee Co. rock slide

A 13-year-old girl is hospitalized and at least five other people are confirmed trapped in a rock slide in the mountains of Chaffee County in central Colorado.  According to the Chaffee County Sheriff's Office, dispatchers were called regarding a rock slide in the Agness Vaille Falls area, west of the community of Nathrop.  First responders arrived at the scene and dug the 13-year-old girl from the debris.  She was flown to Children's Hospital in Denver with unspecified injuries.  5 hikers remain trapped in the debris area, according to Chaffee County Sheriff Pete Palmer.  Their conditions are not known.

The rockslide happened about a mile above the Agness Vaille Falls trailhead.  The area remains unsafe, according to the Chaffee County Sheriff's Office.  Chaffee County Road 162 is closed at the intersection of County Road 270 as rescue efforts continue.
