Teen dies from injuries in I-25 crash

A teenager has died as a result of injuries she suffered in a traffic accident on I-25 in Pueblo Sunday, according to Capt. Linda Grisham, Pueblo Police Dept.

Megan Munoz, 14, of Littleton, was thrown from her mother's SUV when it rolled on I-25. Her mother, Rosie Suarez, was taken to Parkview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Another passenger, 12-year-old Marilyn Suarez, was treated for injuries and released.

According to an investigation by the Police Department Traffic Division, Mrs. Suarez drove into the left hand lane and partially drove off of the shoulder. When she attempted to steer back onto the roadway, she overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle, a 2000 Toyota Tundra. The vehicle spun and veered off the other shoulder, traveling sideways, then rolled several times. Megan was ejected during the roll and appears to have been run over by the vehicle.

The family lives in Littleton and was returning home from Texas.
