Teen arrested for double homicide will be tried as an adult

On Thursday, January 17, 17-year-old Macyo Joelle January was arrested in the 3900 block of East Bijou Street. January was wanted for first degree murder in the killings of Fort Carson solider David Dunlap and his wife Whitney Butler.
The couple was shot to death Monday afternoon when they walked in on a burglary in progress at their home on Bassett Drive.
The 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office announced Friday, Macyo January will be tried as an adult.
