The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's popular Teddy Bear Days, usually held in July, have been moved to June this year.
Children under 12 who are accompanied by a teddy bear or other stuffed animal receive Zoo admission for just $3 June 26-27. Special activities are planned both days from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., including a teddy bear clinic with Memorial Hospital volunteers in the Lodge at Moose Lake, face painting and special bear behavior shows with Digger and Emmitt at the Zoo's grizzly bear exhibit.
U.S. Forest Service Rangers will be on hand to answer questions about the natural habitat of bears and introduce Smokey Bear. Emergency units from American Medical Response and Broadmoor Fire and Rescue will also be on display so curious little ones can explore the trucks and equipment.
