No doubt Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow has some loyal fans.
During the fourth quarter of the Broncos 23-20 loss to the Oakland Raiders are Monday the Tim Tebow supporters were loud and clear. Chants of Tebow Tebow could clearly be heard and were caught on ESPN television.
Tuesday Broncos coach John Fox said he didn't hear the chants and it doesn't matter anyway. He says Kyle Orton will remain his quarterback despite a sub par performance against the Raiders. Orton was 24-46 for 304 yards and a touchdown. He also threw an interception, lost a costly fumble and was sacked five times.
Tebow fans were upset in the preseason when a proposed Orton trade to the Dolphins did not go through. Tebow followed with a disappointing training camp and according to some sources is third on the Broncos depth chart behind Orton and Brady Quinn.
Now a group of hardcore Tebow fans are taking their chants to a different level. The Denver Post reports that eight of Tebow's most ardent supporters will purchase a couple of billboards in downtown Denver calling for Fox to make Tebow the starter. They had saved that money for almost a year to make a trip to the Super Bowl but will now use it to buy the billboards.
What do you think? Are you a Tebow fan? Do you like Kyle Orton? Or would you rather see Brady Quinn get a chance? Please vote and let us know. Lee Douglas will announce the results during the sports report on News 5 at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday.
