Teacher discovers dinosaur skull

Federal authorities say a high school science teacher has discovered what appears to be part of a
skull from an armadillo-like dinosaur on federal land in western Colorado.
The Bureau of Land management announced this weekend that the fossilized skull part was found by Kent Hups of Westminster. Hups found the fragment on land in the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area.
The BLM says the fragment appears to be from the skull of an Ankylosaurid. Hups has a permit for palentological work on BLM land and has had findings displayed in museums. He says the skull fragment could belong to a new species.
Hups says an Ankyslosaurid was an dinosaur that could have looked like a very large porcupine or armadillo.
