Tancredo seeking spot on Colorado ballot

Former GOP congressman Tom Tancredo is negotiating with the American Constitution Party to run for governor, and replace their candidate, Benjamin Goss, on the ballot.

Tancredo said he believes the two Republican candidates in the Aug. 10 primary, Scott McInnis and Dan Maes, have no chances of winning the general election against Democratic Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper.

He says conservative voters deserve a better choice. Tancredo gave McInnis and Maes until noon Monday to agree to pull out of the race if polls show the primary winner is losing to the Democrat. Both men have said they intend to stay in the race.
