Former GOP congressman Tom Tancredo has issued a noon deadline for two Republican Party gubernatorial candidates.

Tancredo said he believes the two GOP candidates in the Aug. 10 primary, Scott McInnis and Dan Maes, have no chance of winning the general election against Democratic Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper.

Tancredo is demanding the two GOP candidates agree by noon Monday to withdraw after the Aug. 10 primary if polls show they're losing or he'll get in the race. He is considering partnering with the American Constitution Party to replace its gubernatorial candidate, Benjamin Goss, on the ballot.

Tea party groups have sent a petition to Tancredo asking him not to interfere, saying it would give the election to Hickenlooper.
