Colorado gubernatorial candidate Tom Tancredo says he's more committed to conservatism than to a particular party.

Tancredo was a Republican congressman from Colorado, but became the American Constitution Party's gubernatorial candidate after saying he didn't think the GOP primary candidates could beat Democrat John Hickenlooper in November.

Dan Maes defeated Scott McInnis in the GOP primary, but Tancredo says he can't support Maes.

Tancredo said in December that third-party candidates split conservative votes and guarantee the re-election of liberals and socialists.

Tancredo said Saturday that he supported McInnis at the time, but that was before McInnis was hit with a plagiarism scandal that Tancredo says made McInnis "unelectable."
