A t-shirt benefit to raise money for Colorado fire victims has far exceeded expectations. They planned to raise $1,500 to $20,000-we learned today they've raised over 20 times that so far. Four local marketing and design companies joined to make t-shirts to sell for $20 each online. They would donate all profits to organizations like Care and Share, Red Cross and the state fund. They say hundreds of designers nationwide have submitted t-shirt designs and they have so far chosen about 17 designs and are looking at more. Since last Wednesday, their website has sold over $20,000 t-shirts.
"It's like something to remember this time by," said Tucker Wannamaker, head manager of the Wild Fire Tee Project, "because this is really the biggest natural disaster to come to Colorado
Springs ever." People can also go online to buy a shirt for a firefighter. Now they hope to sell a half million dollars worth of t-shirts. Click here to buy or donate a shirt.
