A new study suggests that swine flu is less contagious than other viruses that have caused major international outbreaks.

Specialists at Imperial College London and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say the odds of someone being infected by another person in their household is about one in eight.

But children are twice as susceptible as adults. About 60 percent of swine flu cases have been in children, but researchers wondered: are they truly more likely to get swine flu, or just more likely to be taken to a doctor and tested for it?
