Swearing in set for top D.A. staffers

An Oath of Office Ceremony will be held at 4:00 p.m. today at Centennial Hall in downtown Colorado Springs for two top aides at the District Attorney's Office.

Robyn Cafasso and Shannon Gerhart have been appointed to the post of Chief Deputy District Attorney.

Robyn joined the District Attorney's Office in 1989 as a prosecutor in the Child Support Enforcement Division. In her 20 plus years with the office, she has been assigned to the Juvenile Prosecution Section, District Court and Economic Crime Division where she has spent over ten years and has become a nationally known expert and educator in the area of white collar crime.

Shannon joined the office in 2001 as a Deputy District Attorney. After four years, she was promoted to Senior Deputy District Attorney where she has trained, mentored and supervised Deputy District Attorney's in both County Court and Juvenile Prosecution Section. Shannon is Chairperson of Senate Bill 94 that gives $1.5 million dollars in services to local youth. Shannon has also been recognized and appreciated as an educator to the Pikes Peak Area Humane Society and the Colorado Division of Gaming.
