SWAT raids mobile home, comes up empty-handed

EL PASO COUNTY - SWAT team members and the El Paso County Sheriff's Office closed in on a mobile home park off of Highway 85/87 Thursday afternoon, searching for two suspects wanted in connection to a recent string of robberies.

Deputies were looking for Nathaniel Gonzales and Gino Rael, both 20 years old. The two are accused of a number of burglaries committed in Colorado Springs. Police in Colorado Springs say the burglars would ring the front doorbell, and if there was no answer, go around back and break into the home.
A tip came in around 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon that both suspects had been staying in one of the units.

Deputies heard that the suspects may have had explosives or grenades inside, so they called in the SWAT team and bomb squad as back up. After obtaining a search warrant and making entry just after 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon, they did not locate either suspect.

Because guns were stolen during some of the burglaries, the two men are considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about where these two men might be is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office.
