Officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department's Tactical Enforcement Unit have arrested the owner of an auto repair shop on unspecified charges. Greg Ehnes, 56, was taken into custody at at his garage, Springs Transmission and Automotive on 3310 Chelton Loop North at around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday.
The business has been the focus of recent investigation by the police department's Financial Crimes Unit after customers reportedly had their cars stolen, damaged and even sold for scrap metal without their knowledge.
The Better Business Bureau gives the company an F rating and for having 37 unanswered complaints. The Occupational Safety Hazard Administration also fined them $76,000 in July of 2011 for 18 separate health and safety violations.
