The FBI has arrested Rick Strandlof in San Diego late Friday afternoon. Strandlof is accused of making false claims about receiving military decorations. The U. S. Attorney filed charges last week.
Strandlof is currently in federal custody in San Diego. He will appear in court on Tuesday where he will be advised of the charges against him followed by a removal hearing ordering him back to Colorado. If convicted, he faces one year in prison and a $250,000 fine.
He went by the name of Rick Duncan. He organized and promoted the Colorado Veterans' Alliance claiming to have served in the military and earning several commendations.
