COLORADO SPRINGS - A suspected drunk driver is dead following an overnight crash on Interstate 25 in Colorado Springs. According to the Colorado State Patrol, A 36-year-old Monument man was driving north on I-25 near the North Academy exit in a Ford pickup at 1:25 Friday morning. When the truck reached a construction zone with a speed limit drop, the truck swerved into the middle lane, hitting a construction truck. The pickup rolled and the driver, who wasn't wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the truck. He died at the scene.
CSP believes alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
The driver and passenger of the construction truck were uninjured.
