Police have arrested a man suspected of shooting and wounding another man in a parking lot at Colorado State University's Fort Collins campus.

CSU Police say Shameek Jamal Bernard Lewis, 20, of Aurora was arrested at a Fort Collins motel early Friday on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder and attempted robbery.

He's suspected in the Sept. 8 shooting of Johnnie Bradley Fresquez, 21, of Broomfield, who was grazed in the arm.

Police say Fresquez drove to Broomfield and reported the incident to police there. They say he didn't seek medical treatment. Police say neither man was a CSU student.

Authorities have said the shooting may have stemmed from at attempted drug transaction.
