Survey says gas prices down just in time for Thanksgiving

The average price of regular gasoline in the U.S. has dropped 3.64 cents over a two-week period to $2.65. That's according to the national Lundberg Survey of fuel prices released today.

Analyst Trilby Lundberg says the average price for a gallon of mid-grade was $2.78. Premium was at $2.89. Cheyenne, Wyo., had the lowest price among cities surveyed at $2.38 a gallon for regular. Anchorage was the highest at $3.30.

In California, prices were down 5.29 cents from two weeks ago. A gallon of regular cost an average of $2.91. Fresno had the state's least expensive gas at $2.78 a gallon. San Francisco remained the steepest at $2.97.
