An autopsy has ben ordered. Schweitzer was serving a 22.5 year sentence for conspiracy to commit bank, wire and mail fraud, submitting false insurance claims, mailing threatening communications to a government official, failure to file tax returns, use of a firearm in a crime of violence and for being a fugitive in possession of a fire arm.

He began serving his sentence at the United State Penitentiary, Administrative Maximum on August 11, 2006.
