Wow, we're getting pretty lucky with today's weather. The clouds cleared out almost completely overnight so we started the day with lots of sun. This will continue through much of the day, so expect partly to mostly sunny skies, with just a slight chance of an isolated shower. If things develop this afternoon, they should stay in the high country. And because of the sun and lack of rain, temperatures will stay warm this afternoon with highs in the mid 80s for Springs and low 90s for Pueblo.
Friday will be the wettest day of the upcoming week. Moisture will move in from the southwest and the jet stream moves right on top of us. This will be ideal conditions to see showers and t-storms across the area. This will also drop temperatures a few degrees.
Saturday and Sunday the moisture will be hard pressed to create much in the way of showers. Yesterday's thought was that a northwest storm would get close enough to create another good chance of rain on Sunday. But latest models are keeping this farther north now, lowering our rain chances for Sunday. Should this hold true, both Saturday and Sunday would be typical summer afternoons with partly sunny skies and just a couple pop-up PM storms.
Cooler weather is expected for the beginning of next week.
Enjoy the sunshine... Meteorologist Valerie Abati
