We 'blow' into the new month of October with gusty winds to start the Thursday forecast. Winds today will continue to gust in excess of 30 mph at the lower elevations. Temps will be about 15 degrees cooler this afternoon and will turn very cold tonight!

There is a FREEZE WARNING tonight for almost all of southeast Colorado from midnight tonight through 9 AM Friday morning. Freezing temps ARE EXPECTED! This WARNING includes El Paso County below 7500 ft and Pueblo County below 6300 ft. Both Colorado Springs and Pueblo will have their first freezing temps of the fall season! Colorado Springs will drop to 29 degrees tonight, Pueblo downtown will be about 27 degrees. (The official low taken that the Pueblo Airport will be 25 degrees.)

After the cold start to the day Friday we'll have abundant sunshine in the afternoon ligher winds and slightly warmer temps. We'll likely have freezing temps again for Colorado Springs and Pueblo Friday night into Saturday morning. Temps Saturday afternon will be warmer still with mostly sunny skies.
