Students at risk of homelessness to get food

Pueblo City Schools and Pueblo School District 70 will receive $10,000 in a grants to jointly assist homeless students with food in the Weekend Backpack Food Program.

Homeless students and students at high risk of homelessness in 12 school districts will have access to food supplies for the weekend, thanks to support from the Qwest Foundation and United Way of Pueblo County.

Last year's program led to the distribution of 6,500 backpacks for 1,400 students across the state.
