Students and Motorists stranded

Approximately 60 students from Miami Yoder are stuck at school because of hazardous road conditions in the area.

El Paso County Sheriff Lt Jeff Kramer tells KOAA, that the students are safe at school waiting out the storm.

The school staff is supervising the students and they do have supplies on hand if needed.

An automated phone message was sent out to the parents by the school to inform them of the situation.

Hwy 94 remains closed at Enoch Road to Punkin Center at this time. Hwy 24 is also closed at Limon because of weather conditions.

Lt. Kramer urges drivers to stay away from the area because visibility is bad and there are stranded motorist in the area. El Paso County Search and Rescue was activated to assist with the stranded motorist calls.
