Student spikes Canon City teacher's drink

A Canon City student is in big trouble for spiking a teacher's drink.

The Canon City superintendent tells news five, that while the teacher was out of the room an 8th grade boy put a packet of flower preservative into the drink.

However, students told the teacher what happened before she took a drink. The preservative is used in water to keep cut flowers fresh. it is not considered dangerous.

The student now faces disciplinary action and the incident has been reported to canon city police.
