Strong storm will deliver mountain snow, wind plains

A powerful Pacific storm will continue to bring snow to the mountains through late Friday. 8-16" of snow for the northern mountains, 4-8" for the central and southwest mountains. Wind up to 40 mph will cause dangerous travel over the high mountain passes. The main message for the lower elevations tonight and tomorrow will be gusty northwest wind. Gusts from 40 to 45 mph can be expected. Higher elevations west of I-25 will get gusts from 50 to 60 mph. Temperatures Friday will be a little cooler and feel even colder with the wind. Weekend will be mild and dry. A few isolated flurries could develop late Sunday night from northern El Paso county to Teller county.
