WASHINGTON (AP) - Rockies manager Jim Tracy says injured closer Huston Street is "progressing really nicely" and could throw off a mound this weekend.
The right-hander took 60 to 70 tosses at up to about 120 feet Wednesday. He began the season on the disabled list because of right shoulder stiffness.
Tracy did not want to give a specific timetable for Street's return but did say, "We're moving in the direction as well as - or maybe even, in my opinion, a little bit better than - we thought we would be at this point."
He said left-hander Jeff Francis, recovering from left shoulder tendonitis, threw 35 pitches in a bullpen session and "everything turned out perfectly fine."
