One of the most dramatic moments during yesterday's fire fighting efforts in Douglas County came when video from a news helicopter captured the panic and confusion of a horse hemmed in by fences and fire.

It was aired live on 9 News.

With fire approaching and no way out the horse runs away from the fire, then back toward it, then back to a group of goats that were also trapped. As the fire moved steadily closer a lone fire fighter appeared and started running a hose over corral fences, positioning himself to protect the animals.

As he sprayed water on the fire, a helicopter came in and with pin point accuracy hit the fire line and extinguished most of the blaze.
