The checks are in the mail. Almost.

The City of Colorado Springs will send out stormwater refund checks the last week of January for customers who paid ahead to cover 2010 fees. About 20,000 customers are due refunds totaling about $700,000.

You may want to verify that the El Paso County Assessor database has your name and address correct. The database can be accessed online.

Also, if you have automatic bill pay set up through your bank, savings and loan or credit union--you have to cancel the payments. The City is still receiving automatic payments. That money will also be refunded.

If you have questions about your stormwater account call the city at 385-5913.
