TODAY: A good chance for more thundershowers this afternoon and evening. Abundant monsoon moisture in the air and a big disturbance that will move through the state today will increase the chance of storms in your neighborhood. Storms are expected over the mountains and higher elevations. At least a 40% chance too for Monument, Canon City, Trinidad, Walsenburg and Lamar. Chance of storms is higher for Pueblo, Pueblo West and La Junta are higher today as well. Heavy rain is possible again today locally...but is even more likely in western Colorado! There is a FLASH FLOOD WATCH from noon until this evening for the state from the Continental Divide...west into Utah. Temps this afternoon are expected to be about 4-6 degrees cooler than yesterday for all of eastern Colorado.
TONIGHT: Skies tonight will be partly to mostly cloudy as storms move east into Kansas. Low temps will stay mild again due to the clouds.
FRIDAY: Weather tomorrow sounds just like today. More clouds than sunshine and another very good chance for afternoon/early evening storms. Temps tomorrow will be about 2-3 degrees cooler than today. Thundershowers could impact the USA Pro Cycling Challenge which finishes Stage 5 in Colorado Springs tomorrow afternoon. They could also impact the beginning of the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo.
SATURDAY-SUNDAY: Weekend forecast still sounds great with drier/sunnier skies expected. As high pressure starts to move into the region and pushes the monsoon moisture to our south and back over the mountains. Temps will be in the lower 80's in the Springs and upper 80's in Pueblo. Chances of storms will be menial at best at the lower elevations and only at about 10-20% over the high country close to home.
MONDAY-WEDNESDAY: Dry skies expected across southeastern Colorado with temps that will warm into the mid 80's in the Springs and lower 90's in Pueblo. If we have any storms at all they will likely be only over the mountains.
