Stolen car crashed after police chase

A one-car crash at the intersection of Hancock and Circle was the result of a police chase.
Colorado Springs police say they spotted a stolen vehicle in the area of Astrozon and Hancock Expressway. The driver, Eric Maestas, 21, began to speed away and police started to chase. The officers ended the chase for safety reasons and pulled off the road.
A short time later, officers were informed of car crash in the area and the vehicle involved was the stolen car they chased earlier. Maestas was taken to Memorial Hospital for unknown injuries.
