SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Rockies third baseman Ian Stewart sustained a slight sprain of his left knee when he collided with left fielder Carlos Gonzalez during Colorado's 8-7 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday.
The extent of the injury wasn't known until later that night, according to Rockies' manager Jim Tracy.
Gonzalez suffered a slight shin bruise in his right side on the same play, and Tracy said he will miss Monday's game against the Diamondbacks as a precaution.
Shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was also involved in the collision but escaped injury when all three chased after a pop fly in short left field.
