Today will be sunny, warm, and even a bit breezy. Temperatures will warm into the 60's by 10 AM. The warm up continues, and by noon most of Southern Colorado will be in the 70's. High temperatures will be near or just shy of 80 around Colorado Springs with low-to-mid 80's from Pueblo to Cañon City and south along I-25 to Walsenburg and Trinidad. The Southeast Plains will warm into the upper 80's.
High pressure is the main feature influencing the weather in nearly all of Colorado. That high pressure will stay put today and tomorrow, although it does start to give up some territory as an area of low pressure pushes a cold front toward us. That cold front will move through Colorado on Friday, bringing noticeably cooler air along with an increase in cloud cover and even better odds of seeing rain east of the mountains and rain that changes to snow in the mountains. That rain and mountain snow will be most likely Friday night and early Saturday morning, which is bad news for you if your plans include one of the high school football games. The bit of good news is the games will generally be marked by sporadic light rain showers as opposed to constant rain. We will be watching for changes and let you know if conditions change for the games.
