State of the Region: Waldo fire an eye opener

El Paso County Commission Chairperson Amy Lathen addressed hundreds at the Antlers Hotel today. In the annual ''State of the Region'' address, she says that the Waldo Canyon fire was an eye-opener for the whole area. It made agencies work together and showed how devastating a disaster can be. Lathen say's that the county continues to work to mitigate damage to infrastructure and businesses, and that voter approved funding for the Sheriff's office has helped.
